Our Story
Mccdees Global Scrap Connect was born from real-life experience and a deep passion to reduce the burden scrap buyers and scrap owners face when trying to close transactions.
In 2022, our founder was tasked by a former employer to find a buyer for a company vessel intended for scrap. During the process, it became clear how complicated the scrap market can be. There were long chains of middlemen standing between the seller and the actual buyer, making direct negotiation almost impossible. Even when genuine information was shared, many potential buyers were hesitant because they could not verify the vessel’s authenticity.
Another experience followed when a buyer requested help sourcing metal scrap. Again, it was difficult to obtain accurate information or speak directly with the true scrap owner. Multiple layers of agents often passed along incorrect or exaggerated details, creating confusion and mistrust.
These experiences revealed a major problem in the scrap trade: too many intermediaries and too little trust.
